第一次知道Alanis Morissette 這個歌手是在高中的時候，聽到小碎藥丸「Jagged little pill」這張專輯，對於她有如一現代詩的詞曲感到印象深刻，而其中又以 “you ought know”一首歌最驚為天人。歌詞描述的就是一個女人對男人劈腿的憤怒。當中甚至說出了 “Is she perverted like me” ， “ Would she go down on you in a theatre” 和“Are you thinking of me when you fuck her” 等大膽又赤裸裸的言論。即使現代對「劈腿」和「一夜情」等議題相對討論開放的時候，我仍深深覺得Alanis Morissette坦率地說出了在愛情中，性與背叛的關係。對於當時叛逆和憤怒的青少年來說，這實在太刺激了。

我從那時起開始愛上她的誠實。

但是叛逆少女也會慢慢的長大。也慢慢遠離憤怒嘶吼的搖滾樂，直到出國前才又偶然地在聽到Alanis Morissette的新專輯。這首 “Everthing”讓我聽來有說不出的溫馨和感動。從歌詞我知道，這個女人經歷了滄海桑田，慢慢成熟了，溫暖了。雖然歌詞中，沒有像一般情歌裡 “I love you” “ you love me” 的愛來愛去肉麻字眼，甚至可以說找不到任何一個愛字，但我知道，很開心的知道,她深深，深深地被愛著。

我很幸運的有你在我的身旁，原諒我的任性，我的懦弱，我的悲觀和我所有不該被原諒的錯誤… 你看過了我人生中的高高低低，我所有不爭氣的樣子…and you still here。

因為你，我開始對自己有信心，開始相信這世界上有unconditional love。
